BIOGRAPHY:<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Talukder<\/strong> is a Professor of Theriogenology (Veterinary Reproduction) in the Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Reproductive Health at Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU), Bangladesh. His interest in reproductive science was firmly established in 2005, when he studied a Theriogenology course in the final year of his undergraduate study in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) <\/b>at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Bangladesh. He subsequently pursued a Master of Science\u00a0(MS) in Theriogenology<\/b> in 2008 at BAU, Bangladesh. During his Master’s studies at the Field Fertility Clinic Lab of BAU, he received hands-on training on in vitro fertilization (IVF) techniques in cattle. After completing his Master’s degree, he joined the Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh in 2009, and later joined Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (now GAU), Gazipur, Bangladesh in 2012 as a Lecturer (Academic staff).<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2014, Dr. Talukder was awarded a doctoral scholarship for international students from President of Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (OUAVM), Japan to join Akio Miyamoto\u2019s Laboratory of Animal Reproduction Science. Subsequently, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2017<\/strong> from OUAVM under the supervision of Prof. Miyamoto. During his PhD, he studied the embryo-maternal immune interactions during the first 7 days post-insemination in the bovine using several in vitro and in vivo models. The work that he carried out in Prof. Miyamoto’s Lab has led to four publications as first author, and five additional papers as co-author in peer-reviewed international (SCI\/JCR-indexed) journals in the field of reproductive immunology. Of note, he presented part of his PhD work at the 122nd Annual Scientific Conference of the Japanese Society of Animal Science in 2017 and won an \u201cExcellent Presentation Award<\/b>\u201d. He also had the opportunity to work as a \u201cresearch intern\u201d for two weeks as part of his PhD at Taketomi Reproduction Clinic in Obihiro, Japan, where he received practical training in multiple ovulation and embryo transfer (MOET) in Japanese Black cows.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

After completing his PhD in 2017, Dr. Talukder returned to Bangladesh and continued his academic career at GAU, one of the leading public universities in agricultural education and research in the country. In 2022, he moved to Ireland to work as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow<\/strong> at University College Dublin (UCD) under the Government of Ireland Post-Doctoral Fellowship Programme of the Irish Research Council (IRC), where he served for two years until July 2024.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To date, he has published 44 research articles<\/strong> in peer-reviewed international and national journals, along with 13 abstracts in conference proceedings. <\/span>His current professional goal is improvement of fertility in cattle by advancing the understanding of maternal-embryonic communication during pregnancy recognition and establishment.
