The research area of Professor Dr. M. A. Mannan covers the physiology related problems, environmental stress and stress mitigation specially salinity and drought on field crops. Dr. Mannan gained excellence on analysis of crop growth processes under stressful environment in his Ph. D course. His direction of research is to understand the adaptation mechanisms of crops under environmental stress conditions. The present thrust of his work is on the crop X environment interaction, especially response of C3 plants under salinity\/ water \/ plant nutrients stress conditions.<\/span><\/h4>\n

  1. (Two) years research experience in the salt tolerant soybean project<\/strong> at Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman Agricultural University, Gazipur, Bangladesh.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Experienced in the project on \u2018Screening of mungbean genotypes in coastal belt of Bangladesh<\/strong>\u2019 financed by BINA during 1998-1999.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Research Fellow of National Science Information Communication and Technology (NSICT) in the Year of 1996-97, 2002-03, 2014-15, 2015-16. 2015-16<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Experienced as Project Director in the Project on \u201cAlleviation of the Adverse Effects of Salt Stress by Foliar Application of Sodium Antagonistic Essential Minerals on Soybean (<\/strong>Glycine max)\u201d <\/em>financed by PSTU during 2009-10.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Experienced as Project Director in the Project on \u201cStudy the Variation of Soybean Yield and Protein Content to Foliar and Soil Fertilization<\/strong>\u201d <\/em>financed by PSTU.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Experienced as Principal Investigator in the Project on \u201cAdaptation of Cowpea to Saline Ecosystem in Bangladesh<\/strong>\u201d financed by Ministry of Science and Technology, GOB.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Experienced as Project Director in the Project on \u201cAdaptability of Mustard Genotypes to Salinity<\/strong>\u201d <\/em>financed by University Grants Commission, Bangladesh.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Experienced as Principal Investigator as project Director in the Project on \u201cApproaches to Increasing the Salt Tolerance of Chickpea Using Plant Growth Regulators<\/strong>\u201d <\/em>financed by RMC, BSMRAU in the year of 2012-2013.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Experienced as Principal Investigator as project Director in the Project on \u201cResponse of Soybean Genotypes to Waterlogging<\/strong>\u201d <\/em>financed by RMC, BSMRAU in the year of 2013-2014.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Experienced as Principal Investigator as project Director in the Project on \u201cInvestigation of Morpho-Physiological and Biochemical Responses in Soybean to Water Deficit\u201d financed by Ministry of Science and Technology, GOB.<\/span><\/li>\n
  11. Experienced as Principal Investigator as project Director in the Project on \u201cAdaptation of High Yielding Soybean in Polder Areas in Patuakhali and Barguna Districts\u201d <\/strong>financed by KrishiGobeshona Foundation (KGF), Government of Bangladesh, in the year of 2013-2015.<\/span><\/li>\n
