Md. Moniruzzaman joined the Department of Irrigation and Water Management (formerly Agricultural Engineering) as a Lecturer in December 2018 and was promoted to Assistant Professor in December 2020. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in irrigation engineering, water resources management, and soil–water–plant relationships, emphasizing practical, technology-driven learning and critical thinking.
His research focuses on Sustainable Agriculture, Smart Irrigation, Soil and Water Conservation, Water Quality, and Surface and Groundwater Hydrology. He applies precision agriculture, digital image processing, and data-driven approaches to improve water use efficiency and crop productivity under changing climatic conditions. He is also actively involved in student supervision, academic mentoring, and collaborative research promoting climate-smart and sustainable agricultural water management.
