Dr. Nurunnaher Akter was born on 03 October, 1986 in the village of Chingary in the district of Bagerhat, Bangladesh. She passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in 2002 securing GPA 4.75 out of 5.00 from Gazipur Cantonment Board High School, Gazipur; and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination in 2004 securing GPA 4.50 out of 5.00 from Gazipur Cantonment Board College, Gazipur. She obtained BS in Agriculture in 2008 securing GPA 3.91 out of 4.00 from Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU), Gazipur; and MS in Agronomy in 2010 from GAU obtaining GPA 4.00 out of 4.00. She achieved her PhD in Agronomy from GAU in 2023. She was awarded a National Science and Technology Fellowship (NST) during the PhD program to complete the degree.
Dr. Nurunnaher Akter was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Agronomy in 01 July, 2012 in GAU, Gazipur and became an Assistant Professor in 2014, and Associate Professor in 2021. She attended various national international training courses in home. Miss Akter has a communicative skill both in Bangla and English. Miss Akter is a member of Bangladesh Agronomy Society, Bangladesh Association for the Advancement of Science (BAAS), Bangladesh Society of Seed Technology, The Ecological Society of Bangladesh, Weed Science Society of Bangladesh, Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh etc.
