Career Objective:To contribute to sustainable agricultural development through excellence in teaching, research, and innovation in plant pathology.

Professor Dr. Rayhanur Jannat was born in 1980 in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. She completed her B.Sc. Ag. (Hons.) and M.Sc. (Ag.) in Plant Pathology from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, in 2003 and 2006, respectively, securing first class with distinction in both examinations. She earned her Ph.D. in Bioscience from Okayama University, Japan, in 2011.

Her teaching and research interests focus on the biological control of fungal diseases for sustainable crop management. Her research primarily encompasses the detection, identification, characterization, epidemiology, and biocontrol of fungal pathogens.

Dr. Jannat has over 13 years of experience in teaching and research in the field of Plant Pathology. She has served the university in several important administrative and academic roles, including Head of the Department of Plant Pathology, Provost, and Assistant Provost. She has also contributed as Chairperson and member of various M.S. and Ph.D. student advisory committees. As a Major Professor, she has successfully supervised 8 M.S. students and has served as a committee member for 25 M.S. students.

She has published 29 scientific articles in reputable national and international journals and has actively participated in numerous national and international workshops and seminars.

Dr. Jannat is a life member of several professional organizations, including the Bangladesh Phytopathological Society, Bangladesh Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh. In addition to her academic and research contributions, she is actively involved in various social and community development activities.
