Welcome to the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

The primary goal of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is to offer courses for the students of Bachelor of Science (BS), Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Master of Science (MS) and PhD. The Department involves in different fundamental and basic researches in the field of genetic, genomic, physiology and biochemical basis underlying plant stress (abiotic and nutrient) tolerance, protective roles of various growth regulators, natural bioactive compounds triggering plants and animals performances  etc.  for the development of agriculture. The Department also conducting researches on how environmental cues (photoperiod, temperature, salinity, hydrostatic pressure) perceive by the fish brain which is turn to regulate H-P-G axis (Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Gonad) and how environmental toxins induce Parkinson’s disease.
