a)\u00a0 Summary<\/strong> of the course<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Environmental degradation and management is a broad discipline devoted to understanding the degradation of the environment due to natural and human activities and the application of science to solve the degradation problems.\u00a0 This course aims at enabling the students to identify various environmental problems and to know their effective management strategies. In accordance with this main goal, the students will know how pollutants behave in environmental media (air, water, and soil), how human beings are exposed to the pollutants, how adverse human health effects occur, what are the environmental standards and the relations among these topics.\u00a0 The students will understand environmental risk levels to make management decisions. Various aspects of climate change, global warming, biodiversity conservation, environmental impact assessment, pollution control, and waste management will be covered. The students will also be acquainted with recent environmental issues and their potential mitigation approaches.<\/p>\n
