Md. Khairul Mazed is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Entomology at Gazipur Agricultural University, Bangladesh. He earned his Master of Science (MS) in Entomology (Toxicology) and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Agriculture from Gazipur Agricultural University, Bangladesh in 2016 and 2014, respectively. He completed his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from Gazipur Cantonment College (2010) and Gazipur Cantonment Board High School (2008).<\/p>\n

His current research interests center on insect behavior and evolutionary biology, with an emphasis on understanding adaptive strategies and the ecological roles of insects. His work explores how evolutionary processes shape behavior, communication, and survival mechanisms across insect species. Through this research, he aims to advance scientific knowledge on biodiversity, ecological interactions, and the evolutionary forces driving insect behavior.<\/p>\n

Md. Khairul Mazed has established a strong and internationally relevant research profile, supported by more than fifteen peer-reviewed publications in reputable national and international journals. His research is centred on addressing critical and evolving challenges in agricultural pest management, with a particular focus on fall armyworm ecology and control, host\u2013plant resistance mechanisms, pesticide use efficiency, and the development of sustainable, low-risk pest management strategies. He has demonstrated clear research leadership through his role as Principal Investigator on seven government-funded competitive research projects and as Co-Principal Investigator on three additional government-funded initiatives. His PI-led research has focused on innovative and application-driven themes, including green nanoparticle-based pest control technologies, ecological drivers of pest population dynamics, optimization of insecticide application strategies, and resistance monitoring in invasive pest species. As Co-PI, he has contributed to interdisciplinary research on rice pest management, particularly brown planthopper, as well as the development of analytical tools for honey adulteration detection. Collectively, his research portfolio reflects a strong alignment with global priorities in sustainable agriculture, offering evidence-based, scalable solutions that contribute to improved crop protection, reduced chemical dependency, environmental sustainability, and long-term food security.<\/p>\n
