The Department of Medicine was established in 2011 at GAU. The department offers eight courses for the undergraduate (DVM) program, which teach the students about animal and poultry diseases, their diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and control. The department also offers an MS in Medicine degree. The department has a significant involvement with the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) of GAU, which students can use to get hands-on experience with animal disease diagnosis and management. Another key area of activity for this department is animal disease management and prevention-oriented consulting and extension services to farmers. <\/span><\/p>\n

The department has well-established laboratory facilities for molecular work on zoonotic and animal diseases. Faculty members and postgraduate students have been involved in fundamental and applied research on a variety of veterinary health and zoonotic disease-related public health issues. With the affiliation of this department, a good number of articles have been published in many reputed scientific journals.<\/span><\/p>\n
