\u00a0<\/strong>Brief Biography<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0M. <\/strong>Nazmul Hoque, <\/strong>PhD\u00a0is a Professor in the Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Reproductive Health, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU), Gazipur 1706, Bangladesh. He began his academic career as a Lecturer in the same department at GAU on 1 July 2012, subsequently becoming an Assistant Professor in 2014, Associate Professor in 2021, and Professor in 2025. Dr. Hoque also served as Head of the Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Reproductive Health from 17 July 2022 to 16 June 2024.<\/p>\n

Dr. Hoque earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2008 from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, followed by an MS in Theriogenology in 2010 from BAU. He received his PhD in Microbiology (Metagenomics, Genomics, and Bioinformatics) from the University of Dhaka in 2021, with core research conducted at The George Washington University, Washington, DC, USA. Currently, Dr. Hoque serves as an Associate Fellow of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (AFBAS, from 1 July 2022 to date). He was a Visiting Research Scholar at the Computational Biology Institute (CBI), Milken Institute School of Public Health, The George Washington University, USA in 2018. He served as the American Society of Microbiology (ASM) Young Ambassador of Science to Bangladesh for three years (2020 \u2013 2023) to promote and extend ASM global activities in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n

Dr. Hoque\u2019s outstanding interdisciplinary research in molecular biology, genomics, metagenomics, and veterinary science has earned him numerous prestigious awards, including the\u00a0GNOBB Gold Medal 2025<\/strong>,\u00a0Gazipur Agricultural University \u2013 Teachers Association (GAU-TA) Award 2024<\/strong>,\u00a0Young Researcher Award 2024<\/strong>\u00a0from the Bangladesh Society of Microbiologists,\u00a0UGC Gold Medal Award 2019<\/strong>,\u00a0NYAB Outstanding Doctoral Research Award 2021<\/strong>,\u00a0GAU Research Award 2022<\/strong>\u00a0(top 5 researchers),\u00a0Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Abstract Award (2021)<\/strong>,\u00a0ASM Young Ambassador Microbe Travel Award (2022)<\/strong>,\u00a0EBI-EMBL Travel Award (2018)<\/strong>, and multiple GAU-TA Awards (2020\u20132024). Dr. Hoque is actively engaged in national and international collaborative research focusing on genomics, metagenomics, proteomics, host-pathogen interactions in mastitis, udder health management, probiotic-based non-antibiotic drug development, and computational biology. His work extensively utilizes high-throughput metagenomics, whole-genome sequencing, and advanced bioinformatics. He has published 143 articles<\/strong> with a total impact factor of ~300.00, Google Scholar citations: 3,643<\/strong>,\u00a0h-index: 29<\/strong>,\u00a0i10-index: 74<\/strong>, and\u00a0Scopus Q1 publications: 55 <\/strong>(as of April, 2026).<\/p>\n
