GAU VC Launches Smart Vending Machine for Students

Keeping pace with global innovation, Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU), Gazipur, has introduced a modern digital vending machine to meet students’ everyday needs. The machine was inaugurated today at 2:15 PM at the Teachers–Students Conference Center by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. GKM Mustafizur Rahman. This initiative marks another milestone in the university’s journey toward building a smart, student-friendly campus, reflecting the VC’s visionary leadership and commitment to continuous development. The festive inauguration was attended by teachers, students, officials, and staff. In his address, Professor Rahman said, “GAU now ranks among the top universities in Bangladesh in global rankings. Ensuring students’ comfort and convenience is our next priority. This vending machine is part of that vision, a step toward realizing a truly smart campus.” He also announced that the university will host an international conference on December 12–13, featuring prominent Scientists and Researchers from eight countries, and that students from five countries will soon join GAU for PhD programs a testament to the university’s excellence in education, research, and campus culture. Looking ahead, the VC shared plans to install vending machines, washing machines, daycare centers, and beauty parlors for female students in all residential halls soon. The event was conducted by Professor Dr. Mohammad Sharif Raihan, Director of Student Welfare, and attended by Pro-VC Professor Dr. M. Moynul Haque, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Safiul Islam Afrad, Deans of various faculties, Registrar Md. Abdullah Mridha, Proctor Professor Dr. Mohammad Saiful Alam, and members of the university community. This forward-thinking initiative underscores GAU’s dedication to smart services, innovation, and student well-being.
