Dr. Tasmina Akter<\/strong>\u00a0is a Professor in the Department of Fisheries Management, Faculty of Fisheries, Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU), Gazipur 1706, Bangladesh. She has been serving her teaching and research carrier in GAU since April, 2011. Before her teaching carrier, she was obtained her Bachelor of Science (Fisheries) from Faculty of Fisheries in 2007 and MS from the Department of Fisheries Management in 2009 from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). Tasmina has received her 2nd<\/sup> MSc in Engineering in 2016 from Aquatic Science and Technology, Technical University of Denmark in 2016. In 2020, she was awarded her PhD degree from the Department of Biotechnology (Fisheries Biotechnology), Gazipur Agricultural University, Bangladesh. For her exceptional research contributions in the field of Agriculture and Veterinary science, she was awarded as Outstanding Doctoral Research Award 2022 from the National Young Academy of Bangladesh (NYAB).<\/p>\n

Tasmina has experience in fish pathology with research expertise in isolation, and characterization and identification of fish pathogenic bacteria, beneficial probiotic from fish gut and aquatic environment and herbal remedies of fish disease. Her research is focusing on the sustainable and eco-friendly approaches of fish health management in aquaculture. Consequently, she has published a numbers of publications in these fields in different reputed national and international journals. In addition, \u00a0she is actively mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students in aquatic animal health research. Her present aims to reduce the use of antibiotics and other harmful chemicals use in commercial aquaculture by promoting sustainable, bioactive natural product for prevention and control of fish diseases.<\/p>\n

In addition, Dr. Akter has served different managerial work for the welfare of the University as well as for the students during different times such as<\/p>\n
