Dr. S. M. Rafiquzzaman

Dr S M Rafiquzzaman serves as Professor and Ex-Dean of Faculty of Fisheries, Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU). He works both in research and teaching for the last 21 years. He is a distinguished figure in the field of Aquaculture and Fisheries. He is one of scholarly eminence, unwavering dedication, and compassionate leadership. Rafiquzzaman embarked on his academic odyssey with a fervent passion for aquaculture and fisheries. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Fisheries from Bangladesh Agricultural University before delving into the realm of research. His insatiable thirst for knowledge led him to pursue higher education abroad, where he earned doctoral degrees from Pukyong National University, Busan, South Korea which is one of the leading universities in the field of Fisheries. He devoted himself in various multidisciplinary researches including introduction of modern aquaculture, exploring indigenous microbes for aquaculture, harnessing seaweed resources. In the meantime, he developed various water quality testing kits, indigenous probiotic for gut and soil of the pond, exogenous enzymes for aquafeed.

As an esteemed educator, Rafiquzzaman has mentored countless students, nurturing their intellect and fostering a spirit of inquiry. His profound impact on the academic community extends beyond the classroom, as he continues to publish prolifically, contributing in seminar and workshop. His contributions to the field of Aquaculture and Fisheries have left an indelible mark, inspiring generations to come.
