About
Professor Dr. Abu Sadeque Md. Selim is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Animal Science and Nutrition at Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU), Gazipur, Bangladesh. With extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, he has made significant contributions to livestock production, particularly in animal nutrition.
Dr. Selim obtained his PhD in Animal Science from Hokkaido University in 2005. His academic career spans several decades, during which he has been actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervising numerous MS students, all of whom have successfully completed or are progressing in their research. He previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and also held the position of Director (International Affairs) at GAU, where he played a key role in strengthening international collaboration and academic exchange programs.
Dr. Selim has conducted extensive research in dairy production, beef cattle management, and livestock nutrition. His work includes both experimental and field-based studies, contributing to improved livestock productivity and sustainable farming systems in Bangladesh. He has also been involved in national and international collaborative projects, including work with organizations such as KGF, NARO Japan. In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Selim gained international research experience as a postdoctoral fellow at University of New South Wales and through research exposure in the United States, enhancing his expertise in advanced livestock production systems and feed technologies.
Professor Selim is widely recognized for his dedication to academic excellence, research innovation, and capacity building in animal agriculture. His ongoing work continues to support the development of sustainable livestock systems in Bangladesh.
