Specialization:
Professor Dr. Mohammad Shah Alam is specialized in cell biology research, especially molecular mechanisms of environmental toxicology, endocrinology, immunology, etc. He is an expert in the following research techniques:
-
- Expertise in Molecular Cell Biology techniques, such as histology, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, western blotting, BrdU incorporation, gene expression and quantification by PCR, RT-PCR, Real-time qPCR, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), confocal microscopy, TUNEL assay, flow cytometry, and FITC-AnnexinV/propidium iodide staining assay.
- And also have experience in the measurement of serum LH, serum FSH, serum testosterone level, and intratesticular testosterone concentration by ELISA Kit. Familiar with in vitro experimental method: Isolation, culture, and maintenance of primary Sertoli cells and Leydig cells and Human cell line culture. Experience with genetically modified laboratory animals (knockout mice) handling, breeding, sampling, and genotyping. Also familiar with testis transplantation.
- Expertise in optical tissue clearings techniques, such as CLARITY/PACT/PARS/ACT-PRESTO/3DISCO/CUBIC and 3D imaging using confocal, two-proton, light-sheet fluorescence microscopy, and structured illumination microscopy to visualize different tissue components as well as different cellular structures.
