The Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics (ABG), established in 2011 under the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, is dedicated to education and research in animal genetics, breeding and reproduction. It offers a balanced combination of theoretical and practical teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students, with a special focus on enhancing the productivity, fertility, and genetic diversity of livestock and poultry. Through its MS in Animal Breeding and Genetics program and planned PhD program, the department aims to produce skilled, research‑oriented graduates capable of contributing to sustainable animal production and genetic improvement at national and international levels.
