Biography
I am Bushra Islam Binte, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Soil Science, Gazipur Agricultural University (former Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University), Bangladesh. I was born on 13th August, 1995 in the district of Sirajganj of Bangladesh. I have completed secondary education from Saleha Ishaque Govt. Girls High School, Sirajganj in 2011 and higher secondary education from Sirajganj Govt. College, in 2013 securing GPA 5.00 out of 5.00 in the both exam. I have achieved Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Agriculture from Gazipur Agricultural University (Former BSMRAU), Bangladesh in 2017 with CGPA 3.96 out of 4.00 ranking 3rd position out of 133 students. I have also received Master of Science (MS) degree in Soil Science in 2019 from Gazipur Agricultural University (Former BSMRAU), obtaining CGPA 3.99 out of 4.00 (2nd position). During my MSc studies, I conducted research on “Effect of Long- Term Application of Rice straw on Soil Health” where I examined key physio-chemical properties of soil at variable depths to understand how continuous residue incorporation influences soil quality.
I have joined as a Lecturer at the department of Soil Science, Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU), Bangladesh on 7th December, 2020. Then I was promoted to Assistant Professor on 28th January, 2023 and sitll on to go. Currently, I am involving in several teaching courses and research projects.
Research Interest
Conducting research focusing on Physical characteristics of soil, Fertilizer management, Improvement of soil health and nutrition, Irrigation management, Soil and water conservation, Soil-plant interactions, Carbon sequestration and Climate change.
