Training and Capacity-Building Activities – 2026

Under the supervision of the Dr. Kazi M. Badruddoza Outreach Center, Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) organized a series of impactful extension programs in 2026 to disseminate the university’s innovative agricultural technologies nationwide. As part of this initiative, four farmer training programs were successfully conducted.

Farmers from Kaultia, Marta, Salna, Joydebpur, Chowrasta, Pirojali, and Tok villages of Kapasia Upazila, Gazipur, actively participated in the training sessions. Experienced faculty members from various departments of GAU shared practical knowledge on modern crop production, pest management, and sustainable livestock rearing techniques. The training focused on enhancing farmers’ capacity to adopt climate-smart and resource-efficient agricultural practices.

These outreach and capacity-building initiatives directly contribute to the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through these activities, GAU reaffirms its commitment to agricultural innovation, farmer empowerment, and sustainable rural transformation for a resilient and food-secure Bangladesh.

Badruddoza Outreach Center, Gazipur Agricultural University successfully organized a series of farmer trainings and a postgraduate certificate course in 2025, aimed at disseminating innovative agricultural technologies nationwide. These initiatives directly contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).

The programs provided practical knowledge and hands-on experience to enhance agricultural productivity, ensure food safety, and strengthen community resilience. Experienced faculty members and experts from diverse agricultural disciplines delivered interactive sessions focusing on modern crop production, livestock management, aquaculture, soil fertility, and seed technology.

Financial Assistance to the local Community-2026

In addition to skill development, GAU’s Dr Kazi M. Badruddoza Outreach Center provided financial support to resource-poor farmers to strengthen agricultural productivity and rural livelihoods. A total of 200 farmers from various villages in Gazipur district received financial assistance totaling Tk. 100,000.

Through these efforts, GAU not only enhances farmers’ technical capacity but also provides economic support, promoting sustainable agricultural development, food security, and community resilience in line with SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 2 (Zero Hunger).

The course offered intensive instruction on seedling production, field planting techniques, seed processing, preservation, and seed business management, guided by expert faculty and agricultural scientists from both public and private sectors.

Farmer Consultation and Input Support – 2025

On the occasion of National Livestock Week 2025 organized by Dr. Kazi M. Badruddoza Outreach Center of Gazipur Agricultural University, free veterinary treatment of cattle and birds and various preventive vaccines and various medicines were distributed among poor farmers in Kaultia Union of Gazipur throughout the day. At the event, expert veterinarians and intern students of the University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital visited the cattle and birds and various home farms on a team basis and diagnosed the cattle and birds, provided medical advice, dewormed, vitamins and other medicines, and vaccinated them.

In addition, the Dr. Kazi M. Badruddoza Outreach Center has provided free treatment and vaccinations for livestock and poultry, as well as distributed medicines to help poor farmers:
