Vision
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science envisions leadership development in the field of veterinary medicine and animal Science with a view to promoting animal production and ensuring health, welfare, food safety and security and wildlife conservation.
Mission
The mission of this faculty is to provide quality education and services in the field of veterinary medicine and animal science through innovative research for the promotion of sustainable development and national and global welfare.
Objectives
- To serve as a “Center of Excellence” for higher education in veterinary medicine and animal Science education leading to undergraduate, graduate and other degrees.
- To conduct basic and applied research to generate appropriate and sustainable technologies in veterinary medicine and animal science.
- To disseminate and transfer generated knowledge and technologies to the end users through training and outreach activities.
- To nurture interest in animal welfare, ethics, public policy, One Health and wildlife conservation.
- To enhance the quality and quantity of professional services, industrial and public networks.
