Academic Activities of the Department
The Department of Plant Pathology offers courses for Undergraduate studies and Graduate programs leading to MS and PhD degrees. The department has several programs in disease management, nematology, virology, and general plant pathology.
Undergraduate Program: The department has been offering undergraduate courses since the university started the BS (Ag) program in 2005. The BS program now offers four courses: Fundamentals of Plant Pathology, Principles of Plant Pathology, Field Crop Diseases, Horticultural and Plantation Crop Diseases, and Post-Harvest Pathology.
Postgraduate program: The faculty members of the department offer graduate courses for MS and PhD students and supervise the students’ thesis research for the fulfilment of their degrees. The department now offers 20 different courses. The Department of Plant Pathology, GAU successfully graduated 266 students (234 MS and 32 PhD) up to the Summer 2025 Term.
