Dr. Md. Fakhrul Hasan is a Professor in the Department of Horticulture at Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU), Bangladesh. He specializes in postharvest management of horticultural crops, focusing on innovative and sustainable approaches such as the use of biocontrol agents, edible coatings, safe salts, gamma irradiation, and low-cost environmental control systems. His work also integrates AI-based technologies for maturity detection and prediction of shelf life. In addition, Dr. Hasan is actively engaged in applying artificial intelligence to optimize the cultivation of horticultural crops in both indoor and outdoor systems, aiming to achieve efficient production with minimal environmental modification. He earned his Ph.D. in 2013 from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang, Malaysia. Prior to that, he completed his M.S. in Horticulture in 2003 and his B.Sc. Ag.
