The department offers a variety of courses for the students of Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) degrees.
Our Philosophy & Vision
Rural development means the development of the villagers and villages.
Bangladesh is a land of villages, with around 70% of its people living in village areas. The prosperity of the country depends on the welfare of these villages, not solely on urban development. We must give greater attention to the people living in remote areas, including their lives and daily activities. Although agricultural development constitutes a major part of this mission, rural development is a much broader process aiming at the holistic growth of the rural economy. Because farmers serve as the hub of this economy, our mandate is to improve their well-being through targeted rural development studies and rigorous research.
