ACADEMIC & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Starting with graduate (MS) thesis in 2016, I continued exploring the soil, plant and environmental interactions as an Agricultural Scientist and currently, as an Assistant Professor. I aimed to improve fruits and vegetables through varietal and rootstock screening, propagation, PGR and fertilizer treatments, and detailed quality phenotyping. I worked on ‘Sorjan’ integrated systems, off-season fruit growing packages, restoring underutilized weedy vegetables, micro-climate modification and stress mitigation, parthenocarpy, and pectin isolation. I exploited molecular tools (DNA/RNA, PCR), physiological and biochemical assays (enzymes, metabolites, antioxidants), statistics (factorial, mixed model), and data analysis (R, SAS). Challenging research conditions taught me to be flexible, meticulous and purposeful. Besides, research and extension collaborations taught me to value teamwork, community engagement and multicultural perspectives. Thus, I learnt transform obstacles into opportunity.
