Dr. G M Monirul Alam

Mr Alam holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia. He obtained  Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Agricultural Economics from Bangladesh Agricultural University with first class. He passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination from Jeshore Board, securing First Division with star marks. Based on his academic and research excellence he has earned a number of scholarships and awards including the prestigious ‘UGC Gold Medal’ for his outstanding research.

Dr Monirul is an award-winning researcher, and named to Stanford’s list of the world’s top 2% scientists since 2022. He has an outstanding track record of high-quality publications including books, competitive grant income (funded through WB, CGIAR, DANIDA and Government of Bangladesh) and HDR supervision (One PhD and 20 Masters to successful completion). He has provided consultancy services to many national and international organizations, including WB, FAO, WFP, and IRRI. He is also serving on the editorial board of a couple of international scholarly journals. His educational qualification and over twenty years of academic and research experience at different organisations in different capacities provide him with the skills and confidence to conduct high-quality independent research in the domain of climate change vulnerability, adaptation, resilience, agricultural development, value chain, cost-benefit analysis, impact analysis, circular economy, and food security.

Dr Monirul is committed to improving the lives of impoverished people in his nation through research, collaboration, and external interaction with government officials, policymakers, and development practitioners worldwide.
