GAU Ranked Among World’s Top 401–475 in QS Subject Rankings
Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) has secured a place among the world’s top 401–475 universities in Agriculture and Forestry in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Rankings by Subject 2026, marking the university’s first-ever inclusion in the prestigious global ranking. Published on 25 March, the ranking evaluates more than 21,000 academic program from over 1,900 institutions across 100 higher education systems. In this year’s list, Wageningen University & Research of the Netherlands ranked first, followed by the University of California in the United States. The achievement reflects GAU’s growing international academic presence under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor GKM Mustafizur Rahman, driven by strengthened research initiatives and a dynamic academic environment. GAU has recently earned several global recognitions. In the QS Sustainability Rankings 2026, the university ranked within the 1071–1080 band globally, placing first among agricultural universities in Bangladesh. It also ranked first among all universities in Bangladesh in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026 and topped public universities in the Life Sciences category of the THE Subject Rankings. Additionally, in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2025, GAU ranked first among public universities in Bangladesh, placing 77th among the world’s top 100 institutions for innovation and 331st globally. Vice-Chancellor GKM Mustafizur Rahman described the achievement as a reflection of the collective efforts of the university community and reaffirmed GAU’s commitment to advancing global-standard research, education and international collaboration with the goal of joining the world’s top 100 universities.
