GAU signs LoA with Supreme Seed Company

In a significant step toward strengthening mutual cooperation in agricultural research and technological advancement, a Letter Of Agreement (LoA) was signed today between Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) and Supreme Seed Company Limited. The primary objectives of this agreement are to promote innovative agricultural research, ensure the use of sustainable agricultural technologies and products, foster collaboration between academia and industry and jointly encourage agricultural entrepreneurship. The signing ceremony took place at 11 a.m. in the Academic Council Conference Room of the university. Professor Dr. GKM Mustafizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of GAU, attended the event as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. M. Moynul Haque, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Safiul Islam Afrad, Treasurer of GAU, and Mr. Mohammed Masum, Chairman of Supreme Seed Company Limited, were present as Special Guests. Also in attendance were Md. Mokfor Uddin Akond, Vice-Chairman of Supreme Seed Company Limited, along with other company advisers. From the university, faculty deans, Registrar Md. Abdullah Mridha, Proctor Professor Dr. Mohammad Saiful Alam, Directors and several senior faculty members were also present. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Nasrin Akter Ivy, Director of IQAC, GAU. The event began with a lively introduction session, followed by the screening of documentaries from both GAU and Supreme Seed Company highlighting their respective histories, achievements and operational activities. After the screenings, participants shared their remarks and expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership. Following the formal signing of the agreement, Mr. Mohammed Masum said, “This collaboration with Gazipur Agricultural University marks a milestone for us. We aim to make Bangladesh’s agriculture more sustainable and commercially vibrant through modern research and practical innovations.” In his address, Professor Dr. GKM Mustafizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of GAU, extended his appreciation to Supreme Seed Company Limited, stating, “The advancement of agriculture today relies heavily on technology and innovation. Such partnerships between academia and industry will provide our students with hands-on experience, preparing them to become the next generation of agricultural entrepreneurs. I firmly believe this LoA will open a new horizon in Bangladesh’s agricultural sector.” Notably, Supreme Seed Company Limited is a recognized Bangladeshi enterprise specializing in the production and commercialization of high-quality crop and vegetable seeds.
