BSMRAU Holds Workshop On Accreditation

A workshop titled ‘Preparation for Accreditation: Documentation and Evidence’ was held at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) to evaluate the institutional development and quality aspects through formal processes. Jointly organized by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) and the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of BSMRAU, the event took place on February 9, 2025, at 9:30 AM in the university’s old auditorium. The workshop focused on the key accreditation documents and the preparation process for these documents along with the collection of evidence related to various departmental activities. Professor Dr. GKM Mustafizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of BSMRAU was the chief guest while Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Safiul Islam Afrad was the special guest. Professor Dr. SM Kabir, Member of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council delivered the keynote Presentation and chaired the session. The event also featured speeches by Director (IQAC) Professor Dr. Nasrin Akter Ivy, Secretary (BAC) Professor AKM Munirul Islam and Director (BAC) Professor Nasir Uddin Ahammed. In his Speech the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that BSMRAU is a unique institution that strictly adheres to its academic calendar. He highlighted that accreditation is a crucial process for the university’s progress urging participants to gain a thorough understanding of the matter. He also pointed out that the workshop would aid in securing national and international recognition through rankings. It is worth noting that accreditation is a vital process for assessing and improving the quality of an institution, ensuring the standard of its educational, administrative and other activities.
